With MACNA less than two weeks away and kids going back to school I'm sure many hobbyist are get the itch for their reef tank.

It seems the demand for SPS has slowed down a little while colorful mushrooms have taken the front row. Last year mushrooms were on top due to low supply and high demand but they can easily be found in today's market.

With that being said what do you guys see trending for this upcoming season?

Acropora all the way . Never ceases to amaze me !! In fact am slowly phsing out all corals - even sps thats not acroporas from my tank for acroporas.

Regards,
Abhishek
I hope to see acros stay strong! By far my favorite.

I think that the Zoanthids are going to be next up. All of the crazy morphs that are dropping, it's only a matter of time tell the cycle comes back to the Zoa!!

Hope you don't mind but I made this multiple choice as I see the trend could be at least 2 different types of corals.

I agree with this. Zoanthids seem like the next hot item. Right now it's all about them bounce shrooms though.

Next big thing? Zoas already had their time to shine, but you're right they do seem to coming back strong! From what I can remember of the past 8 or so years it's been
Zoas, Acans, Scolys, now Mushrooms... Keep in mind I am way out of the loop on Acros.

I'm ready for the Blastomussa Wellsi fad

Don't leave acans out, some out there are 500+ per head with amazing colors. They also have movement which the across don't. CBs chalices have amazing colors.

I'd like to see demand for Acropora slow and the fad to move into something else to drive prices down.

Colors cost and unusual colors really cost in Acropora, acans, any coral.

Kenya tree! Heck it's due....

Really though I was all about the acro until recently - moving away from them now. I guess we all grow up. ;)

I would guess whatever hot coral is coming is really going to depend on factors I have no clue about like the importation and collection areas.

What ever it is I hope it's a resurgence of aquacultured corals. Why not propagate what we already have!
