Hi guys!

I bought this tridacna squamosa a week ago and it is sitting pretty high in the tank to receive a lot of light.

I would like to do a waterchange today, but I’m pretty sure it will be out of the water.

I expect to have it out of the water for a maximum of 15 minutes. Will this harm my clam?

kind regards

just be careful that it doesnt shoot water all over the place once it becomes high and dry...bc it will. I'd put a something over it, like a paper towel or something like that

I have shattered many halide bulbs back in the day while doing this. They will shoot water!

yep, been there. Actually Invented the technique for covering clams to protect halides back in the 90s. lol
INVENTED THE TECHNIQUE is sorta funny don’t you think? It just common sense. Everybody does this once we see how the clam shoot up jets of water. I myself have 28 inches Gigas. Protect lights and equipment is essential. I don’t think myself as invent the method of protecting my light from the clams.
