I just ran out of Reagent A for alkalinity on my trident and i was consistently at 8.5. Did the task of replacing reagent a and did a test run. The alkalinity reporting so high that it failed the test. Ran it again and it registered 14.2. OUCH. I changed the reagent again. Still in the 14's. REcalibrated and tested. 14's again. Changed to yet ANOTHER bottle of raegent A. Poof...14's again.

Any thoughts on what I can do?

Did you calibrate using your tank water and a known alk value?

You might want to check Neptune's forum, if you haven't already. Then create a Support ticket. Depending on age, it could be time to clean everything. Probably stating the obvious. ;-)

I had something similar occur with ABC reagents. I purged the line (forget the task to do this offhand) and recalibrated using DT water and finally got it back to normal.

TY. actually already did the basics before I reached out.

What level does your Hanna read? How new is the Hanna reagent?

Assuming you cleaned the cuvette already? Are all the Trident reagents the same lot?

Trident got back to me expressing confidence that this was a pinched line or sometihng else restricting reagents flow into the tester. testing.

You got a failed test?

I just went through failed tests with my Trident and it took about 30 minutes to fix. I had to take it all offline, blow out the sample and waste lines, then clean the cuvette. Put it back together and all back to normal

Yup..that is the next step that trident told me to take. Looks like I need to find a you tube video.

Every few months I take it apart and clean out cuvette and make sure no leaks. Also one thing that has kept my numbers from going off is resetting reagent thru trident settings instead of Trident replacement thru tasks

What is the difference between resetting the reagents in the trident menu vs doing the tasks function?

I honestly don't even know I know since doing this my numbers don't drift how they did when doing tasks. I used to get a nice amount of drift thru tasks that I haven't got since using this method.

I think I’ll try it next time I switch reagents and see if I can tell any difference.
