I've heard of several. Someone mentioned Premium Aquatics had some yesterday morning or the day before. saltwateraquarium dot com had some I saw just a bit ago that were bundled with a full Apex system, once it was discussed on one of the Facebook groups it sold out in a hot minute.

I am also on several lists and never got a notification. I think they are selling out before their system even emails or somehow people are finding them.

Really? I have notifications for Saltwater Aquarium and Premium Aquatics along with about 7 others . I haven’t got Nothing in email saying they had some in stock . Then again by time I do get to read a notification anyways I’m sure they are gone . I asked though because of Terrence saying that some are going on a list

I was able to get one yesterday on Premium Aquatics, I just happen to check in the morning and they were available, it already shipped and is arriving tomorrow

I have wanted this for a while, but I am a bit more excited than I thought I would be to see my tank monitoring the big three constantly. Although, there is a small part of me that was looking at those Ebay prices lol.

I bought the new 2016 head unit back when it was first released on sale for the Trident, but I haven't even upgraded my classic yet, so I still have to do that before setting up the Trident. I did see the announcement but I didn't try and get one at 3:00 am EST. I did go on MarineDepot the day of the launch at 10:00am EST and they had just put them online and it showed 6 available, I was going to buy it, but I hesitated since I am moving soon and hopefully upgrading, something I thought would be done long before now, and I usually don't like to buy early release items. I waited just a few minutes and it sold out.

I didn't receive any email notifications either, I just booked marked the major retails Trident pages and check here and there. I just happen to check Premium Aquatics and bought it right away. It was still available after my purchase but when I checked back about a half an hour later it was sold out. My advice is book mark the retailers you want to buy it from and check a periodically, especially around a time a normal business would open. Seemed to work for me, I had two chances to buy one so far lol.

With Marine Depot it was the first day of the launch and their first batch, it was only there for a few minutes and I only saw 6 available, I am not sure how many they started with. PA I can't say for sure, it was available when I checked yesterday morning and available for at least a few minutes while I ordered. The next time I checked was at least a half an hour if not more, and it was out of stock.

BRS said they were getting more in about 2 weeks...when I asked right after they sold out of the initial batch. Haven't gotten any emails though from them yet.

I’ve had all of them bookmarked since launch. Haven’t seen any in stock yet anywhere and I’ve been checking at least every hour. No email notifications either.

That “selling to vip customers or only sending notifications to some of the list” comment really grinds my gears.

I accidentally checked FB and someone posted they were selling it as a package with the controller on SaltwaterAquarium.com. I was able to snag one within about 15 minutes. I don't have the controller, so this was helpful. I'm not a VIP, nor do I have alerts setup for that site, just saw it accidentally on FB.

What is it about them treating customers who give them more money better that bothers you?

Why? BTW - you can buy them on ebay if you want to spend a little more (I wouldn't) - but if you're really 'checking at least every hour' - the cost of your time is far more than buying one on ebay..

What surprises me - is that the number of bids on this is huge - 60-90-100 in the 700$ range.

I'm very loyal to my fish store - when I go in and buy a couple expensive fish - I often ask for a discount and get it. The average person who just walked in might not get that discount. Is that wrong?

Well. Just about everything. That said, this is not on topic.

Don’t want to make a second post, so edit: I’ve considered eBay. The concept just bothers me. That and no warranty on a brand new piece of equipment is not a good idea.

It’s not hard to keep a few extra tabs open when I’m already at a computer all day.

It seems this community has a difficult time policing itself in keeping a thread on topic. I don’t know what else I can do. I created this new thread because I want to keep providing new information and answers to legitimate questions, but the thread just keeps going off track time and time again.

I think if you buy a product - and register it (i.e. its new) - you can have the warranty
BTW - just talked to BRS - about their shipment - will be fewer than the first - and they said if you didnt get one the first time - you need to re-click 'notify me when in stock' - Im not sure this is true - but I did it anyway.

Terence, ignore the fuzzy noise. Many listen and engage while also appreciate that a vendor is very much involved with our group.
