If you watch melevs reef lasted video he talks a little about the trident he has one and shows a pic of it and his latest test results

I've been to Marc's house several time over the last year or so picking up supplies and I've asked when he was going to upgrade to the latest Apex. He actually had a new Apex, but was still using the older Apex. I guess since they gave him a Trident at Aquashella in Dallas, he was finally forced to upgrade his system.

Seriously fellow reefers, why is everyone freaking out over the release date. It will come out when it comes out, until then just do what we all have been doing and manually test the parameters. When it comes out it will be a great day and everyone can get along again, LOL!!!:)

Until the limited supply of preorders sells out instantly...

This is why I need to monitor my alk--- I understand patience are in order as it is a new product but I would hope Neptune would inform suppliers of its release date soon so that they can be preordered. I am reaching my tipping point and may pull the trigger on an Alkatronic although I truly want to test the big 3

Wonder if Neptune will release a video showing how to connect trident and the dos together when it comes out

There is not much to it from what I saw at live demo in Dallas at Aquashella.
Once you have both devices. There is an interface on fusion where you set you Alk yo number you want it to be. Example 8 dkh.
Then you set the window of plus and minus. That's about it. Trident will test and if it's within that window it will do nothing. If its below the range it will automatically dose your alk solution.
I didnt go much in detail but it looked pretty simple. Not sure if you change solution to different kind or use sodium carbonate instead of bicarbonate or vice versa, how would that effect, not sure.

Based on my source, they expect it to start shipping within the next couple weeks. We will see how good they are...

What else would you need besides an APEX, DOS, DDR, and 2 part for the Tridents operation?

I've yet to see confirmation that Trident will be able to automatically control 2, 3 or 4 part dosing. Can anyone confirm this? My understanding is that Trident / DOS will control a single alk solution only but could be wrong (I hope I am)...

How could trident help with 4 part (it only measures 3 things)lets you have a pump constantly dosing Mg. you could say if Mg > xxxx then shut that pump off. But. most people dont drip Mg. you could also do it for Ca.

There are plenty of balanced solutions out there such as Triton, ATI, and Aqua Forest that determine the dose of the other solutions in relation to the alk dose. So if Trident increases alk dosing for example it would be nice to have it also adjust parts 2-4 in equal amounts or some ratio to the alk solution change (for those that don't dose equally).

For 4 part I was referencing Triton but that could be reduced to 3 part if need be.

I’m sure it could, same as alk. If the value drops below the specified number then the dos head for that would turn on until it’s within range.

Here is your confirmation.

The Apex will be able to use data from Trident to control dosing on the DOS.
