Just got off the phone with Neptune and it looks like reagent will not be available for quite some time. Also I was informed that running the agent dry could damage the unit. I know we are in a trying time and people have bigger problems but not have any reagent to distribute, not putting limits on how many you can buy and not notifying people who paid well over a thousand dollars and letting them know the system can be damaged is unacceptable. There should have been a safety device in the unit that would prevent damage from occurring.

Lots of threads already on reagent shortages. Neptune apparently shipped all they had before shutting down the factory. Who knows how long it will be until that changes. A few months I’d imagine. Trident was $600 not well over a thousand (unless you were foolish enough to buy a scalped one off eBay), and it has a pretty effective diagnostics to cease operations once the reagents get low. Had mine since May and it’s yet to ‘run dry’. Mostly people seem to complain that there is reagent left when apex reports reagents empty. I guess no matter what they do, cannot please all of the people ..... well, you know.

Have to wonder what country the base chemicals come from.

I am far from foolish, the entire setup was 1400 for everything I purchased from BRS. The information I got was directly from Neptune's support number. They said that if it runs dry it can damage the unit and would have to be sent in for repairs.

I shut mine down using the task mode. Went back to my Hanna checkers until reagent is available

From what I understood, Neptune shipped all the reagents they had to the vendors and asked that they be released on, a somewhat, timed basis for this reason. Neptune also recommends not storing the reagents for over 12 months before use so hopefully that would keep people from buying major stock. If you have been using it for while now the systems Ca/Alk/Mg uptake and dosing requirements should be fairly easy to maintain.
However, and someone please correct me if Im wrong here, but if someone were using the Trident based dosing and ran out of reagent they would probably want/need to reconfigure the DOS using the setup wizard to handle the dosing until they returned the Trident to operation.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
