Trident sample line filter

To me its a better and cheaper solution though. No need to replace the whole filter assembly if it opens. You can buy 25 discs at a time for $8 and just replace periodically in the OEM housing.

Nice, thanks for the link. The McMaster filter is identical to the Neptune other than Barb size. If it’s easy enough open I’ll try it on the Neptune. But now that I think about it surely if Hanna makes the discs they make the filter?

Or, you take a pair of scissors and cut the tip at an angle.

Then you can slide the 1/16" ID tube over the 1/8" OD barb.

Looks like a good solution there. Just a pro-tip regarding filters since I have quite a bit of experience validating filters just like these for use in pharmaceutical manufacturing - since that replacement is probably a larger membrane and with potentially different materials of construction than the original, it would be a good idea to flush the filter out with 10-20 mL of RODI and then prime with saltwater before use. Filters like this have quite an extensive leachables profile, which may or may not contain compounds that could interfere with the test results. A good pre-use flush will remove them to be safe.

Did this end up working well once you started taking measurements? I’m going to order some unless you’ve experienced any issues since the original fitment.

I did end up using it. It's too soon to know if it's better/worse than the original, but it works fine so far.

Here's another option for pre-filtering the sample line - the new SWF-POD

It includes a 255-mironc filter screen, that is both easy to clean, and or replace, as needed. it will connect to the Trident 1mm sample line as well as pretty much all the other common hose sizes between 1/4in O.D. and 1mm I.D.

You can learn more about it here on this R2R post:
