Sorry for the snark but here:

Can you use the trident with the dos to keep your parameters stable meaning alk cal mag has anyone done this and if so have you’ve been successful
Yes, Trident Based Dosing! You basically set an average amount of dosing the system normally requires and the variant percentage allowance for the DOS. If adding 20ml per day and the ALK/Ca/Mg starts to drop the system can automatically increase the dose up to the maximum you set. Or decrease the dose if needed too.

So if I want my cal at 440 alk at 8.0 n mag at 1350 the trident will tell the dos to add it u til I reach those numbers?

just trying to get someone’s advice and opinion who has tried this and been successful with it searching online does help but better to hear from someone who has done it

Yes, as stated that is the main draw to getting the Trident. I have been using it for almost two months. Night and day difference to how stable those numbers now stay.

Sorry have one more question if I’m adding more corals and the parameters drop will the trident and the dos adjust to keep my parameters stable

The way the dosing works is threefold:

1-Set the Parameter you want to keep (ex: Ca 420, dKH 8.4, Mg 1280)
2-Set the amount you normally have to dose on a daily basis
3-Provide a "window" percentage that you want the Apex to be able to automatically adjust

So let's use just Ca as an example:
1-Tell Trident/DOS that I want my Ca at 450 +/- 10ppm
2- Set that I normally have to dose 8ml/day to maintain this range
3- Allow the Apex to be able to adjust this dose +/- 20% (so it will be able to dose between 6.4-9.6ml/day)

If your Ca is rising/dropping faster than the Apex can adjust, you go back in and adjust the base dose rate. So as you add corals that are consuming the elements and the Trident controlled dosing is no longer keeping up, you just adjust the base rate to help it compensate. So you can't set and leave it forever, but it should be able to adjust in on occasion.
