I have an Acro eating black bug outbreak in the tank. I was wondering if anyone has used trifexis to treat there tank as a substitute for interceptor??

The milbemycin in Trifexis is what is in Interceptor BUT Trifexis also contains Spinosad which kills fleas. I would not use it!

Yah that is my concern I was hoping someone had tried it. Thanks for the reply!

Still trying to track down some interceptor... no one has tried trifexis?

Well I decided to go with dr gs coral dip in tank dosing about an ml per gallon, we will see how it turns out...

Dr Gs absolutely did the job. Dosed 3 cap fulls saw instant results. Treated 3 weeks in a row to take care of eggs. I would highly recommend, can’t believe I wasted so much time looking for interceptor.

Thanks for the update! I just dosed 1ml dr gs per gallon in my 120. About 80 gallons water volume after account for rock, so dosed 80ml. Hope this takes care of my bug problem too!

How long did you medicate for before putting carbon in/doing water change?

Just watched your vid. I’ll wait 24 hours too to put in carbon and turn on my skimmer. Thank you!

I waited 24 hours and put carbon in. First week I did a treatment I did a 10% water change. I didn’t even do a water change after the second and third treatment. Just keep an eye on your snails and inverts besides that it had little effect on anything else. If your tank is anything like mine you are gonna deal with some algae outbreaks afterward. Basically with all that microfauna die off my live rock just barfed our detritus and algae. Good luck!

This is today. Excuse the blue light but long story short there is no sign of bugs and everything is colored up.

Did the interceptor work for you? Dr.G's is just liquid interceptor so I think how much stronger of the recommended dosage is the key. I just got a prescription for interceptor from a vet and will give it a try at about 12 times higher than normal dose to see if it works.

Yes it did , but threw my tank off balance , and lead to Dino’s infestation from hell . Scrapped it
