Hey y’all, so I got this red toothed trigger about 2 weeks ago and haven’t had any issues with it. Im not sure what’s going on with it’s dorsal fin though. Initially I thought the tip was just white, but I got a closer look at it today and realized that there maybe something wrong with it. Or maybe it had previously gotten nipped by another fish before I purchased it. I figured I’d post on here to see what y’all thought. Should I be worried?
Its had a bath in Rally pro and has been treated with Prazipro. I’m not sure if I want to treat with copper while it’s still in qt. Aside from its fin, it has seemed really healthy.

Looks like a mechanical injury. They tend to wedge into rocks. If it’s getting better I would observe. If infected antibiotics. Btw, did you freshwater dip?

Yeah, it likes to hang out in the pvc I have in the qt tank a lot. It was out quite a bit today though, which is how I was finally able to look at it’s fin. I did fw dip when I initially got it, and then again after i did the rally bath. What’s the best indication for infection?

Considering the colour, local progression, or increased breathing rate. Good you did the FW as neobenedenia can be quite resistant to therapy. Copper by the way decreases the immune system, so I would wait with copper unless there is a reason.
