Trigger dying...

He has a bit of blue but yes, started turning white. I read they will lose color if a female isn’t present. Had planned to get one.
Hm, haven’t experienced that with my dude. Hope he gets better, they are awesome fish.

I agree this may just be malnourishment or internal parasites, it’s hard to tell.

Freshwater dip would have been my first course of action. If a fish dies during a dip it wasn’t going to make it anyway, unfortunately :(

In case of internal parasites- you can try dosing the QT with general cure or metroplex to get him eating, but at this point if you don’t get medicated food in him soon I don’t think he’s got very much time :(

The white patch on his throat could be a secondary bacterial infection as well.

You could try a bath in acriflavine (ruby reef rally or API fungus cure have it) if he’s still hanging in there this morning...

Sorry for your loss :(

If you determine it is internal, consider getting some metro plus (most LFS have it) and doing a food soaked with it. If you end up with any internal problem, you have to get the meds inside.

Sorry to hear it died. That is always a bummer. For future reference, it is always a good idea to feed some medicated foods so you can eliminate gut parasites. I use a combination of metronidazole (metroplex) and kanaplex over a two week period. Basically soak LRS fish frenzy with one of the meds for about 15 minutes, and feed every other day, switching between the two meds. I've had great success with this method. Whenver I get a new fish into QT and feed them medicated foods, I actually end up feeding the DT with medicated foods as well. Arguably, this is not necessary but I don't see the harm to treat them just in case.

I would also suggest dosing prazipro in your QT which will get rid of many external parasites such as flukes.
