trigger smires/ blocthes on fin.

Ok . I know the signs of ich and velvet. But these smire type blotches on my triggers top fin have me perplexed.... any thoughts. He is about 2 months old to my tank and came from a copper dosed tank at the lfs. He eats like a pig and is very active... internet has nothing on blotchy smires. he eats like a pig and is very active. he lets me touch him if i put my finger in the water.

Possibly Flukes. You could try a FW dip to see if anything falls off. And/or treat with PraziPro.

+1 ^^^ First step in the FW dip. If no flukes, those white-ish areas need to be watched closely. Could be a bacterial infection setting in.

FW RODI bath complete. Water looked pretty hazzy and had a lot of white particles all different shapes and sizes in it after he was done. i would upload the video but have not figured that out yet.

Honestly if it were me I’d pull him out, give him a Malachite Green dip/bath (or some product along those lines, Paraguard or Ich-X) and start treating with prazipro. If that doesn’t work then move to antibiotics. If I don’t know what it is that I’m treating I uasually hold off on antibiotics until I’ve tried other options. When I can tell it’s bacterial or my other options didn’t work, I usually go with a trifecta of Metroplex, Kannaplex, and Furan-2.
