I just got a trigger sapphire 26 sump delivered today and I was pretty surprised about the poor finish on the sump. The top edge is all rough and bubbled. Is this normal?

I have the amethyst trigger(same but purple trim) and mine is smooth on all edges. Would call the vendor you ordered from and see what action they say to take.

Looks like router bit was dull and generated too much heat, causing acrylic to melt. Or they used extruded acrylic which is more prone to do that vs higher quality fast acrylic.

I have the same trigger sapphire 26 and mine is smooth on all edges. Seems like a defect and I would contact the manufacturer.

Yea that’s not normal. Their sumps are top notch. They should take care of you.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I have reached out to the vendor.

Sorry, this is old but did you end up contacting Trigger Systems or the vendor you purchased it from? What was the outcome? I just received my Sapphire26 from BRS and my edges are rough and bubbling as well.

I reached out to both. Trigger never responded, Marine Depot went to bat for me though and got it taken care of. I did have to negotiate with trigger via marine depot though. I would recommend visiting triggers website and taking a look at the pricing for their factory seconds. That’s what I used as a baseline.

Even though I eventually got a fair discount on it, it took about 2 weeks to get trigger to agree to a fair price for what was clearly a factory second that they tried to pass off as good.

I will say marine depot was great about it, they said if trigger wouldn’t take care of it they would take it back and cover return shipping.

Definitely reach out to BRS, I’m sure they will go to bat for you.

I'll be contacting BRS and go from there! Thanks for the heads up!
