I was just wondering how some of you guys plumbed a trigger system sump with 2 drain inputs? My reef ready tank just has 1 drain and 1 return. Is it easier to just use 1 or both or split the single drain into 2? PVC or flex braid tubing?

I used a few parts from flexpvc.com, and split the drain. I ran from a wye into a pair of flexible tubes that drop into the sump.

It's not perfect, but it does work.

The side exit for the third drain doesn't work so hot, so don't do that.

If you only have one drain, I would only plumb one drain. Keep it simple and it will cause you less headaches down the road, especially if you want to turn your durso into a Herbie style drain and you would be stuck replumbing things to make it work...

As for tubing, whatever your happy with but keep in mind most "Flex" tubing isn't all that flexible. Certainly easier to plumb than hard plumbing unless you practice a few times with the hard plumbing first.

The black flex tubing I used is stupidly flexible. It's called pondflex, and it's just PVC. But you can do a 90 in about a 3" radius with it, no problem. On 1" diameter. Love it.

+1. Keep it simple, no need to get fancy as your tanks one bulkhead internal diameter will be most likely be your limiting factor.
