My tank only had a single 1 1/2 inch return drain and the only way to plumb the sump was to step it down to 2x1 inch connections. It was not a quiet (or simplistic plumbing wise) as I liked.

The next few weeks got a thin sheet of acrylic and drilled out the necessary holes to stick a 1 1/2 inch bulkhead instead. Made things much simpler and quiet! The only problem was the acrylic was too thin and ended up bending a little under pressure (not breaking or anything) just making a ton of salt creep at that site.

Fast forward to now, made a much thicker and simple cover that fits right over the hole using PLA (will eventually move to ABS for longevity). I don't understand why Trigger doesn't not come with one of these by default but hope this works for someone else too.

Nice design work!

I think the reason it isn't a standard option is because most reefers want at least 2 drains to prevent a tank overflow. A single drain system seems to be uncommon.
