If you own a Trigger Systems Sump with the dual 1" drain, I would like to hear how you connected the drains.

Here's my tank setup... It's a 180 Marineland tank with dual corner overflows. The tank has 1" drains as well. The Trigger sump is the Sapphire 39.

Right now on my 93 cube I have that vacuum hose stuff draining to the sump with a single drain. The vacuum hose connects to the tank just by sliding it over another piece and kind of wedges on and easily pulls off underneath when I change the sock. Then I just slide it back onto the pvc piece and fits very snug.

I DON'T use hard pipe unless it's an adapter to a barb fitting. So how does a Trigger sump connect with soft tubing or just anyway I can connect to the 2 drains in the sump?

I haven't opened the sump yet, but wanted to get an idea of how to connect it.

Any help is appreciated

Not sure what you mean by connect the drains. On mine the drains run into its own compartment, so you don't need to pull them out to change the socks. As I recall it comes with a couple of pipes that sit into the compartment but I didn't use those on mine and just hard plumbed right through the holes in the sump. I put unions just above the sump so I could take them apart and clean the pipes all the way back up to the tank.

I have the emerald 34 sump. I use one inch spa flex hose [ I'm guessing that's what you mean by vacuum hose stuff ] and the hose ends fit right into the drain fittings on the sump.

No, the vacuum hose stuff looks like the lines used for a wet/dry system. It looks like actual ridged vacuum hose.

How many pipes do you have coming out of the overflows and what drain system are you using?

Right now I have two 1 inch drains coming down. I know they have that plate for 2 or 3 drain connections. I was just wondering how to connect to those from the tank without pvc tubing. I only use vinyl mostly, but think I may have to use Spa-Flex. Being my current 93 cube was bought used, it came with all the plumbing parts.

Then, because each of the 2 returns are going through a 25watt UV Sterilizer, I don't know if I should try to center the drain part under the tank, or center the return, because it has to split. The sump is 39 inches long and the tank/stand is 72 inches long.

Did you need any adapter to make the spa-flex fit? And did you have to glue it or just use clamps?

This is how my trigger 39 is setup, hope this helps in some way
