Does anyone run this sump if so please help with the placement of all the baffling it comes with. Im confused as how the bubble trap with the media holder works. The water moves up through the bubble trap instead of down so the media either floats or im doing something wrong. Pics are always helpful. thanks.

Pics of yours? It sounds like your return pump is on the wrong side? I have the regular non triton trigger though.

Here is a pic on the Trigger site. Shows the flow pattern

Section 2 is typically where the protein skimmer is located. Water purposely exits Section 2 by flowing under the aquamarine wall to allow proteins to remain at the surface maximizing the potential for the protein skimmer to extract from the system. The water then flows through the media platform and foam filter block into Section 3. The media platform can be used to allow for several different filtration methods (bag of carbon, bio balls, bio media, rubble rock, etc.).

Maybe you need to soak the filter so it stays in place?

not a question I have the return pump in the right section. I have it all running and everything it comes with optional baffling and im wondering where they all go and how they work. I guess if you don't have one you can't
help. thanks guys for trying. I've looked at every diagram nothing helps it all blends too well

I sugges trying to Contact Trigger Systems directly for support. Sorry I couldn’t help more!

The media should not float. It should be placed in that chamber snugly as water is supposed to flow through it not around it. I understand why they do this but I am not a big fan of the under/over method I like the over/under better.

You are not doing anything wrong. The baffles provided can really only go in one spot so you wouldn’t have anything int he wrong spots. As said by @IKD the triton design has water pass under and up through that last section. The rack is sorta useless unless you can keep the media bag from floating up, you need to you use enough media generally to add enough weight To combat your flow rate. If you use the foam sponge under the rack make sure you clean it pretty often as it will clog/slow flow pretty quickly.

I have a version 1 of the smaller Trigger Triton and it took a bit to get things functioning in a way that didn’t bug the carp out of me.

Hey, This looks like an old thread. I also have the trigger systems 44v2 sump and the media platform is useless as it is. Triton recommend a 10x rate, yet even with a 7x, the flow is strong enough to lift anything that is put in the media platform. I ended up leaving just the sponge that the sump came with and then i added some acrylic rods on top of the sponge that i fixed to the sump using suction cups. Let me know what you did?
