Trimma cana space question

Assuming that there's adequate filtration/the tank is plumbed into a suitable system, what's the actual minimum for Trimma cana gobies to live in? I'm wondering if I could plumb a 2.5 into a larger system with more than decent filtration, and use it to keep sexy shrimp and pico sized (1" or less) fish.

I have had 3 Trimma cana in 20 L (5,5 G) without any problems at all. Just filtrating in the tank.
