Trimming back macro algae in fuge

Hi reefers,

my fuge is totally packed it macros. To get nutrients sucked out of the water do y’all think it would be more beneficial to cut back the mass of algae more often, or leave it in to have more surface area to grow

Trimming your macro and discarding some is physically removing nutrients from your water. So I'd vote trim away!
