What tripod would you guys suggest for taking shots of my tank? The total height of my tank including the stand is 60 inches. I would like to spend no more than $100 on it.

cheapest decent tripods that people have recommended to me are manfrottos but thats a little over 100 i believe
but if 100 is your max budget and not a penny over then youre pretty much stuck with bestbuy brand tripods or maybe try to find one used?

Manfrotto is a great brand, Some of the features I like is the adjustable neck and the ball swivel.

i dont know about the other guys but i dont find it matters for my tank. i think our tri was like 80 bucks and seems to be build like a tank. has a ton of adjustments. it is a dynex 65" pro tripod. best buy sell it for like 150.00 but online and on sale i have seen it lots of time for 79-100

as long was it is sturdy and holds the camera still thats all that matter to me. its not like i'm running around with it. You set it up at the tank and call it a day. If I walked around with it and stuff i can think of things that would make it better but if the tank is all you are going to use it for i would not worry about spending big bucks at all on a pod.

PS: i have never spend big bucks on a pod. maybe i just dont know what i'm missing. (cant imagine its very much)

That's true it all depends on what you are using it for. If its just for tank shots and cheap tripod would probably work just fine.

The majority of the time it will be for the tank; however, I can also see getting into doing macro shots of bugs and flowers.

For macro shots outdoors of bugs and flowers most people do not use tripods.

I'm looking for a tripod now. Gondore, how did you make out with this inexpensive Manfrotto/Bogen? Does it have all the features you want and held up well so far? Have you seen anything you wish you had purchased instead?

Appreciate any answers.
