Triton 44 Sump

A newbie here. Can you run a Triton 44 as a regular sump without utilizing the Triton method? Only reason I ask is because I can pick up a new one for $450, which is probably $100 less than normal. I think everything I've read suggests the brand is well regarded so if I can get a deal on a good sump I was going to give it a try. Thanks.

the sump is designed to run triton which requires a %10 volume of DT refugium so really all the sumps are, are just a sump with a %10 refugium and a dosing line holder. overall great sump for any purpose.

I am currently using the Triton 44 and dosing 2 part. But plan to move to triton method soon.
