I am based in the Caribbean and due to Covid and delays in mail my water sample can take 1-3 weeks to arrive to ICP in CA. Even couriers will take about a week.
Would that delay in shipping cause any significant abnormalities in ICP results? @Randy Holmes-Farley your opinion would be valued. Thanks.

I am no Randy Holmes-Farley but would go out on a limb and say No, there should be no effect.
The ICP test measures elements at an atomic level. Wether your aluminum or whatnot is part of a more complex molecule that might break down or change the total amount of aluminum remains the same.

Unless there is a leak in the container, if nothing added or taken away from the water the ICP test should not be affected.

There has been concern with some elements, such as phosphate even in normal shipping, but I think it is still worth doing:

Thanks Randy. I figured it would help in determining stuff like heavy metals which should not be affected by time and for phosphate etc I would rely on normal test kits.
