Thanks for the advise...... I'm starting to gain a little hope that maybe after 7 months we might have some answers to our problems

OK. thanks, Lenny.

Bandj, check for metal tubing clamps, plumbing connectors, a corroding penny in the water, wiring int he lights that gets wet and drips into the tank, etc.

Ok thanks for all the advise!!! We was about to give up on this tank... I will be back home next weekend and we will do some in depth searching of tank, and massive water change.

Wish we would have honed r2r months ago

+1 on Randy's post. I've seen people use stainless steel worm drive clams on the tubing connected to submersible pumps and other submerged equipment. This is not good, use plastic clamps or even a plastic zip tie instead, they work great.
And get rid of those strange rocks, only keep the obviously coral based rock.

Thanks again for all the help. One more question for you. We have decided to drain tank and start over do to desire to slightly change location and its not exactly level which bigs me a lot and figured this is best time to change anything cause once it's up and going we are not gonna tear it down....... That being said should we replace the sand with new live sand? Wasnt sure how much of the metals would have been absorbed into the sand that's there and if any of it would still be alive. Thanks in advance

Yes, metals bind to sand and rock, so ditching the sand is a good plan.

Some people also do acid washes of rock to remove the outer layer and the metals on it.
