Triton method and excess detritus floating in tank

So with triton you are not suppose to use filter socks but I have noticed that all of the debris from the tank now gets stuck in the macro algae. And once you move the algae around to redistribute it all that debris comes out and back to the tank! Also noticed that while the corals are doing great there is a lot more small detritus flowing in the tank than before triton when I used filter socks.

really wondering if I need to try out a roller mat filter or something.

Anyone else having this issue with triton??

What you are calling detritus the corals call food.

They are doing great for a reason (full bellies!!!) so don't mess with success.

Just keep doing what you're doing. (Triton is coincidental to the situation.)

What are dissolved nutrient levels like in your tank, BTW?

Phosphate and nitrates?

It's natural!!

Yes po4 and no3. Really anything you test for would be potentially interesting to see.
