Hey guys!

So I've been quietly doing research for my next tank upgrade and I'd like to implement a tank "regiment" (zeo, triton, aquaforest, ect). Obviously we all see Zeo tanks FULL of SPS, but there I find it hard to find triton tanks that are heavily SPS. Is there a reason for this, or just coincidence? I get the idea behind the triton method, and it is supposed to be a ULNS which would be ideal for SPS but I don't see the same style of tanks that zeo tanks produce.

On a side note, is there a way to produce the pastel coloration of zeo in a triton tank, or just a normal berlin style tank? I know in zeo you use Spur2, can that be used in other tanks with no ill effects?

BRS TV is doing a series on their 160g tank. Here's the first video they did talking about the change: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/vide...160-to-the-triton-method-52-weeks-of-reefing/

Here's another one about dosing Triton:

Good luck and keep us posted!

yup i've seen it. Their tank isn't really SPS dominant though. I'm really talking about the tanks that you see on the zeo forums, 90% acros. I don't really see a reason why it wouldn't work, but I wanted to see if anyone had any insight :)

I have no clue. lol. But I noticed that they took the zeolite offline to run the triton

I've done a fair bit of researching and gathering knowledge on the Triton method as well, as I may possibly go this route my self.
Isn't the Triton 'mother-ship' tank pretty stocked with SPS colonies?
Other than that, I can't say that I have looked at coral 'types' with regards to the method...just overall info-gathering.

Will be interested also to hear from others and users.....

I just started Triton Method Core7 on my 300g system. I have 4 tanks plumbed together - a 105g SPS only DT, a 187g mixed DT, sump, and 30g fuge. Many of my SPS started out as pastel [on a simple BRS 2-Part Berlin system] and have maintained their coloration, but it has only been 3 weeks since I started Triton. My Alk and pH has been much more stable when I switched to Core7 from the BRS 2-Part dosing. And my macro algae has a higher growth rate with some minimal nuisance algae, which is mostly in my fuge. Minor bubble algae in my DTs where snails cant' reach.

FYI, for ease of maintenance, I decided to use the same water for my SPS only and mixed tanks. The water chemistry is identical, but my flow rates and lighting are much higher on my SPS only tank.

Have you seen any negative or positive affects? You say that your SPS has maintained its color, do you mean its pastel like coloration? Do you feel like your system is taking more Core7 than the normal 2-part?
