Triton method refugium, and skimmer positioning

There isn't room in my cabinet where I placed my sump for my protein skimmer to sit in the second chamber. Can I run the Triton method with close to similar success if my skimmer is in the first chamber, and my refugium in the second?

the only difference between having skimmer before the refugium is that the macro algae has less of a chance to adsorb nutrients from the water

I think you'll be fine. Some folks pump water from the third chamber back to first to increase the circulation through the skimmer and macro.

I am so glad this question was asked. I have my skimmer in the 1st section. MY chaeto will not grow. trying to get the H160 light.
