I have posted my recent results below. The issue is that they have shown me I have crazy high levels of metals- Copper, Tin, Nickel, Vanadium, Aluminum, Molybdenum. I am quite sure I have no metal tools, screws, bolts etc sitting in the tank rusting. Then I am curious if my R/O unit is doing this because it is a couple years old and I have not replaced the membrane int hat time, so I have ordered a complete new set to correct that. I have Triton Detox coming as well.

However, as I look at their corrective action contaminated trace minerals or salt mixes seem to be a possible cause in everyone. I use Fritz RPM Pro which I now plan to replace the box which is relatively new, but the only other cause suggested is now pointing to me to what I am dosing, how do I know if my Core7 doses are not contaminated?

Triton (From BRS site) recommends 2ml each per 26 gallons, having a 75 gallon tank with roughly 10-15 gallon sump I started dosing 6ml each daily. Checking alk daily it was too high so I reduced ending up dosing 2ml each every other day which kept my alk at a steady 8.5. Seeing that I am essentially UNDER dosing I struggle to believe my dosing habits caused any of these issues.

Please advise where you may see errors in any of this, including my logic. Thank You

Is the water 0 ppm TDS? If so, the RO/DI is functioning properly and is not likely a big source. If the TDS is higher, then it might be.

You add nothing but Core 7 and RO/DI water and Fritz salt?

What foods are you using?

I actually just tested the R/O and it was 9ppm. But yes aside from that nothing is added but the Core 7 doses. I use LRS Reef Frenzy, dissolve a small chunk and feed the fish daily, small chunk lasts me 3-4 days. Maybe once or twice a week I use Reef Roids to target feed corals.

it could be the RO water then, depending on many other factors. Definitely replace the DI resin now and any time it rises above 0.

I'd run metal binders like metasorb, cuprisorb, polyfilter, etc.

@Randy Holmes-Farley Thank you for the quick replies, I am going to work on this issue. How much of an impact do you think the magnetic items in the tank have on this? Have a Jebao PP-15 and Koralia pump along with a magnetic scraper/cleaner that stay in the tank.

Pump impellers are not usually a problem.

The cleaner and holder magnets are not generally an issue unless they break open. Sometimes they look like this: lol
