Folks,

My reef is about 70 days old, and got the results back on my first Triton test. I'm not fully sure how to understand the results. Also, does the kit not test dKH or Nitrate? I didn't see that listed.

Any feedback on my results? I'm using Tropic Marin Pro Reef salt, and not dosing anything at the moment. Tank only has 3 fish, CUC, and combination of dry and live rock. I'm just starting to see coraline algae growth on the plastic parts of my VorTechs.

Thanks!

I wish I thought of your screen name, love it. I should have been turf algea tamer.

Your tank is to young for you to worry about that type of test. For alk and nitrate you should have a reliable home test kit. Most of us have the basic test kits to measure PH, Alk, No3, Po4, Calc, and Mag. Salifert is a good go to.

The results you have are showing are consistent with what I would expect. TM pro reef is good salt. Your test shows high Sn which is tin or silica which is the indicator of the diatoms stage.

It sounds like your tank is doing fine if you are growing coraline. Usually you run ICP if there is a problem, get the test kits and keep a log and an eye on the tank and things will be great

Thank you for the reply! I definitely have diatoms on the sand bed. I'll wait it out. Battled hair algae before the diatoms, so learning to be patient! :)
