Just got my Triton test back.

I am a little worried about my Tin, Copper and Lithium being elevated, are these normal levels in an aquarium or should I be worried?

I checked all my pumps, etc and found no metal so I am not sure where it could be coming from. Any suggestions? I have around 15-20 feet of pvc plumbing going from the basement to my first floor.

I am dosing is 2 part from BRS, acropower, Flatworm stop and coral booster.

I am thinking about taking my gfo offline since my phosphates are so low, or should I just take a majority of the gfo out of the reactor. I like the thought of the gfo as I think you have more control of the levels compared to just letting it be. I dont have any carbon in my system. Just gfo, skimmer and cheato.

How can I get the tin out of my system and is there anything to test for it on an ongoing basis besides sending in a test to triton?

The lithium is no concern.

I've had copper higher than that without apparent issue, but finding the source might be reasonable. Do you use tap water?

It isn't known what levels of tin are an issue, and there are many forms for a single number isn't that useful to know anyway.

Well I just got another triton test back and I still have high levels of copper, etc.

Sn 3.91
Cu 6.97
Al 8.51
Li 453.00
Si 273.00

Other levels, my alk is 7.7 (salifert) Ca was 450 from triton and p04 was 0.013 from triton

I just got back from second triton result and I still have all the heavy metals and my copper went up to 6.4 this time. I am concerned about this even though my corals look good. How high of a copper level would you call dangerous?

Could feeding Formula Two Flakes 4 times a day cause a high level of copper and other unwanted heavy metals in my tank? I only do 1 water change every 2 months and I think I am going to up that. My TDS reads 0 and I am adding another micron carbon block and another DI to it to make sure the water is as pure as possible. I keep the alk of my tank right around 7.5, what pure salt would you recommend that mixes close to that? The other salt I was using previously mixed to 12 so I had to add muratic acid to bring down the alk so I didn’t get a spike in alk. Could that have something to do with the unwanted metals?

I am still dosing Flatworm Stop and Coral Booster as I have heard only good things about them and my tank has been looking good lately but this latest triton test has me very worried. Especially since it came right after I did a water change, but that is starting to make me think it may be the muractic acid or possibly the instant ocean salt.

Too add, I've heard of iron being an impurity in Muriatic acid but not sure of any other metals.

Also to the tin it did make me curious. I think new pvc was a possible source.
