Hi! I am seeing a lot on the forums about Triton and Reef Moonshiners but I'm not really understanding what the difference is? What are the reasons to pick one over the other?

Moonshiners which I have requires addition of many bottles and recommended Icp tests opposed to triton which has similar but lower in costs and easier to follow
There should be a moonshiners handbook online

Ive been running MS for a year now and my corals have more colors and better health than ever before! Takes a handful of ICP test results to track down your system and tune everything in, but after that, I test about every 3 months and only have small adjustments and smaller corrective dosings :)

i also run MS. once my corals took off i was having trouble keeping ALK up. slowly getting it dialed. would be better if it wasn’t manual though(my dosing of ALK)

For whatever reason, I havent gotten the great colors that many speak of. I use RM, and I have good growth for sure. I won’t deny that, but I dont have amazing colors. Now that could be attributed to many things, my point is more or less that I dont think the colors for certain.
But I still do use the product.

nitrate/phosphate could be the culprit. or PAR.

How long have you been using the Moonshiners method?

That's awesome! I'm a month into RM. Do you still do water changes? If not, when did you stop?
I do RM and I still do water changes. My tank is 60g, so i just do a daily 2-liter change using a 2-liter water pitcher that I have. Scoop out two liters, dump in 2 liters. Real easy.

There's two reasons to do water changes. Replenish elements and remove nutrients. Neither RM or Triton help with the second on their own. Triton (at least when i tried it years ago) utlized a large refugium as part of it which helped with nutrient removal. I don't have a refugium at all on this tank, so a sock and skimmer are my only means of removing nutrients. Well, and the hair algae i have right now. :grinning-squinting-face:

I hear ya man! I have a fuge that hums. I always harvesting and adjusting light time based on No and Po weekly tests... If I can get that dialed in, I may consider the WC convo.

I do daily 2 gallon changes. I used moonshiners as supplements now.
