A couple of months ago I had a huge spawn of my trochus snails. Unfortunately most of the babies ended up on my chaeto in the sump and got discarded when I cut it back by about 70%. Algae Barn wants me to send the chaeto the next time I have another big spawn. I had a smaller spawn recently and I decided to use one of my cycled QT tanks to grow out the babies. There aren't nearly as many this time but still probably 100 or so.
This is the tank I'm using. A standard 20 gallon. That's the chaeto I removed from the sump. The white dots are the babies. Most of them are on the bottom of the tank but you can see several on the glass.
Another shot for perspective on the size. You can see one just above the thin "tail" of chaeto.
The same baby in close up. You can even see his little whiskers.
