Trochus Snail Spawning- pics and video included

Title says it all. I was in my living room and turned over to look at my tank and noticed one of the trochus snails releasing sperm, but didn't think anything of it. Then 30 minutes later the entire tank is cloudy, the corals are in their feeding mode, and it looks like there are micro air bubbles. Thing is, they aren't air bubbles, they're eggs! I was able to catch a video of one of the females releasing eggs. Pretty cool stuff here. I don't have to feed the corals this week I guess.

Congrats!!! Trochus are so hard to come by up here in Washington or they are selling for 5.99 a pop... sheesh.

You think you're gonna have babies crawling all over or are the fish going to pick them off?

Well I'm really hoping I'll have at least a few, but I don't doubt the melanurus wrasse is going to have a grand ol' time. Trochus aren't cheap here either, so it would be awesome to be able to replenish my stock without having to spend an arm and a leg.

I guess they are pretty happy in your tank- lol! That’s really cool that they are spawning in your tank!

I guess so. Haha. First my torch corals spawned and now these. I'm doing at least one thing right. Now to just do everything else right.....

Thats awesome, I never seen them spawning. I had my snails spawn but had never witnessed it.
