Anyone know where to get tropic eden mesoflakes at?

It seems like everyone is sold out and won’t get more in for another couple of months.

I was hoping to replace my current sand bed with mesoflakes when I have to move my tank in late September.

You could always go with the reefflakes. There is only a 0.3mm size difference and with the sale price the cost is the same at premium aquatics. I have used both and couldn't tell much difference.

Thought about that since the they are on sale right now. Would you recommend tropic eden over caribsea? Also I have a pistol and watchman goby, any issues with them in the Reeflakes? That’s the main reason I was leaning towards mesoflakes

I like the tropic eden myself but only for the grain size, trying to keep the sand from blowing all over. I believe the seaflor special grade is 1.0 - 2.0 mm.
Other than that, either is fine.

I don't have experience with goby/pistol shrimp pair with larger grain size. The pistol shrimp that were TBS live rock hitchhikers weren't bother by the reefflakes though.
My sand burrowing wrasses do just fine with it as well.
I currently have mesoflakes because of the higher price of the reefflakes when I was buying.

I have a pre-order with premiumaquatics.com for 10 bags of meso. The last update I got from them was:

"Probably looking at late summer on Meso. We should be getting a huge amount this time too, so hopefully won't run out again.

10 bags?! Sheesh! How big is your tank?

Hi Jared,

Unfortunately the Mesoflakes has still been delayed, so best case would be 2 months, but we are still waiting for them to ship it. Once it ships it's usually 6 weeks at the very fastest.

Thank You,
