I currently use all for reef (liquid) for all of my tanks, however it seems Tropic marin can't keep up with it where I live and online Making it harder and harder to find. Is the powdered stuff comparable to the liquid? And is there an easy way to figure out how to mix it in such a way that I don't have to adjust my dosing pumps at all?
Any advice on the powdered all for reef and how to mix it would be awesome

The powder is just a way to make the liquid in bulk. It is not available anywhere in the US at the moment (at least from my understanding). You can make the DIY all for reef with the individuals parts.

Ah dang you are right it's not in the US yet. I might get some carbo calcium and add MG to it.
I notice carbo calcium and all for reef share the exact same dkh and calcium per 500ml

I mix my own using CarboCalcium. I add AquaForest trace elements to the mix. Works like a charm.

AFR is, I believe, just CarboCalcium mixed with trace elements.

I mixed carbo cacloum, mag, and their trace into a jug to make all for reef (there are instructions on how to do so)

from BRS website

Recommended Tools for mixing:

  • 100 mL graduated measuring cup
  • Small kitchen gram scale
  • Magnetic Stirrer (convenient, but not required)

1 liter Recipe & Directions

  • Step 1: Starting with a clean container with at least 1 liter capacity, add 750 mL RODI water. Room temp water is ok, but warm water will help dissolve the powder more quickly.
  • Step 2: Slowly add 140g CarboCalcium powder, stir continually.
  • Step 3: Add 12g Bio-Magnesium powder, stir continually.
  • Step 4: Add 100 ml Pro-Trace A-
  • Step 5: Add 100 ml Pro-Trace K+
  • Step 6: Keep stirring. It can take some time for the solution to be clear. Estimate ~20 mins. Solution will be a tint of blue, this is normal.
