I recently started the 3-part Tropic Marin Balling method on a Red Sea Reefer 525XL, which probably has a net water volume of about 125-130 gallons after sand/rock. I have an medium-heavy loaded LPS dominant tank with a few red cap montipora that grow fast, and a few other monti varieties. My tank seems to have hit steady state for Alk and Calcium after about a week of adjusting the dosing volumes of the 3-part. I am at an alkalinity of 8.4 dKH and calcium around 430 ppm. I am dosing 160 ml/day of each part. This seems like a large dose volume to me, but maybe it is in the ballpark for this system volume and coral. I would love to hear what volumes anyone else is dosing with this 3-part method and for what type of system so I can gauge my usage. If this is normal, then I need to get rid of my 1500ml reservoirs and move up to gallon dosing jugs.
Thanks!
Thanks!
