Ok everyone.... I am getting sick of having to dose Microbacter7 and dose carbon additives to my system. Being that I have a smaller system I do not have the space to run a bio pellet reactor. To be honest I am a little freaked out to try something new with collection I have but that is how this hobby progresses. I have been a hardcore Tropic Marin Pro Reef user since I have been in the hobby. I started reading up on the TM Bio Actif salt mix and it seems like it has its own carbon source already mixed into the actual salt and that is why they call it Bio ACTIF:tongue:...LOL... This may be the salt to use in smaller systems that are not able to run reactors. Anyway, I just did my first water change. The ALK, CAL and MAG was a little low but that is fine because I like to dose to my specific parameters anyway. I must say I am pretty impressed so far. I was getting excellent polyp extension last night and that is not just because I did water change. I do water changes every 4-5 days...LOL... I definitely did see an immediate difference with the skimmate going up the skimmer, it was nice and thick. I have seen some bad reviews on this salt such as corals bleaching and cyano issues, well the bleaching issue is because the tank must have been pretty dirty and to shock the tank with a dose of carbon will do that. Every bad review there are 10 that say it is a great salt mix. I have seen a couple of systems that utilize TM Bio Actif and they are impressive. I will update this thread with the progress of my system with the new salt mix over the weeks to come
