Been having an issue with high phosphates, registering 82 on my Hannah checker aiming for 9. Decided on trying out Tropic Marin’s Elimi Pho’s Rapid and followed the instructions to a tee. Weird thing was checked phosphates after words and they had risen to 87. Any idea on what’s going on. Dosed 7.8 ml in a total water volume of 85 gallons. @Lou Ekus

I'd guess your phosphate readings are ppb. 9 ppb is practically zero. Corals will starve with no phosphate. Lowering phosphate too fast is not usually a good thing with corals such as SPS.

You may have phosphates bound to your rock. As you remove phosphate from water, the rocks release more, restoring an equilibrium at an overall lower value. You may need to remove many times more phosphate from water to actually lower the value in the water. Don't be in a hurry.
