I have been using Bio Active on a customer tank. But I am not sure if I should use Bio or Pro on my tank.

Any opinions or thoughts to differences between the 2 other than price?!?

I new to know soon because I am going to buy this salt to fill my tank within 12 hrs.

Go with pro. The bio actif has some kind of carbon source that acts as a small way of carbon dosing. However, i prefer to control this elemen via vodka, vinegar,or bio pellets

What nikesb says is true, " In BIO-ACTIF sea salt are naturally occurring long chain biopolymers mainly of marine origin which are a kind of dry vodka dosing and which promote specific marine heterotrophic bacteria to help maintain nitrates at very low levels. What is unique in the Tropic Marin organic carbon dosing in comparison to all other kinds of organic carbon dosing is that the biopolymers are mainly of marine origin.", Lou Ekus.
Also keep in mind that the Pro salt mix has relatively low dKH.

Here is an article on the differences/intended purpose, between their regular salt and the "Pro" mix, again from Lou Ekus:

Tropic Marin VS. Tropic Marin Pro Reef??

It's my understanding that the pro was formulated for tanks that run calcium reactors.
I've never used the bio actif, but the regular is great salt!

However, i prefer to control this elemen via vodka, vinegar,or bio pellets

I am still new to either of these methods and haven't heard of it before. So I still have to do research on it

I will see if I can even find the Pro. I have seen the standard and bio active at LFS.

Thanks everyone

Well I called 4 local places and they all carry tropic Marin standard or bio. No one has pro.

One even said they spoke with the company and that pro is for the more established tanks, 10 yrs old or more

i have been using this salt since a year now , i love it , my reef is doing great with it for me worth the change compairing to red sea salt.
