Tropin marine pro mixing?

Just starting using tropin marine pro salt, is it necessary to mix at 77f as in their instruction? Or is that only necessary if using the salt straight away?

I normally mix at around 68f then store, only bring to tank temp when doing a water change.

I’ve mixed mine at 85 degrees and I’ve seen no ill effect. The parameters stay pretty close to what they say as well. So if your just gonna store it after mixing I’d say your fine!

The temp doesn’t really matter.
my wayer mixing station is in my garage so has pretty big temp swings over the year from being kinda cold in the winter to being pretty warm in the summer. I’ve never had an issue mixing or storing the salt.

I don’t think it matters for the actual mixing it’s more for measuring the salinity it’s more acurate at 77 I mix mine the day before then bring it up to temperature to check salinity before water change

Thanks all, I guessed it would be fine but coming from Red Sea salt they recommend not mixing salt above 68f and seeing the TM instructions say to mix at 77f had be wondering was they a reason for these recommendations I was missing.

I think they suggest 77F as a reference point for telling you how much salt to add for a given salinity. I usually mix between 70-75 without any issues.

could be or more so mixing as I thought temp didn’t affect specific gravity? Who knows as it seems each salt manufacturer has their own take on best mixing practice, then we get hold of the salt, then that all goes out the window.

In many respects it is better to mix colder as precipitation of calcium carbonate is less likely.
