Folks, I am worried about the corals in my tank and the Algae take over.

video of tank attached.

My frog spawn doesn’t retract as much anymore and the algae growth outpaces my clean up crew.

this is a Fluval 13.5. I do regular water changes each week.

My CUC includes 5 blue leg hermit crabs, 2 trochus snails, 2 nassarius snakes, 1 turbo snail, and 1 pep shrimp which has been destroying aptasia the night after it shows up.

I am thinking of adding copepods to the tank.
Any other advice?

Consider more frequent water changes. Adding pods is solid move too. And adding good bacteria to out complete the algae.

Just went to my LFS, they said try a few more astraea snails, so grabbed 4 of those and some live copepods. I think they will survive nicely given that I only have 2 clowns and a Royal Gramma. Don't think they will feast on the copepods that much. Will toss the Copepods in tonight when the lights are off to give them a chance to get to the rocks so the fish leave 'em be.

I do 1.5 gallon water changes once a week. I'm worreid more might hinder given the silicates that come with new water anyway and that's what this stuff feeds off of to grown. (I use RODI water I filter myself and self mix salt)

Alright well after tossing in some copepods and picking up some Astoria snails my tank is looking nice and clean with only light green algae on the dry rock. The sand is mostly clean as well but I do have these brown bits that look like chunks of sand. Any idea what these are? Only thing not cleaned up really.

I have a freshly cycled tank with Dr Tims, its about a month old and my diatoms are blooming like crazy! I was thinking of trying the perioxide method. I havent added anything but a snowflake eel, blue throat trigger and a panther grouper. No coral to kill, to CUC to kill. Has anyone had experience with peroxide in a Fish Only tank?

Confucius says” Don’t kill mosquitoes with a cannon “
Hydrogen peroxide can kill all living organisms, including fish if overdosed and it can easily be overdosed. I would consider it for dinos, but not for diatoms, which are just plain unsightly, but do not produce toxins.
