Hello! Here is my base line info on my problem.
New tank and I'm a first timer. 75 gallon
When the tank was cycled and ready I bought 3 yellow tail damsels....mainly bc they were cheap and I didnt want to kill a 50 dollar fish, just in case the tank wasnt as ready as I thought. All were happy, no problems
Added 2 bangai cardinals, bc my wife thought they were cool and I liked them as well. Compatibility seemed ok as well. And again not real expensive. And again everyone was happy, eating, swimming etc
Next tried a yellow tang, died within a day. Didnt think much of it, figured I made a mistake, petco was nice enough to get me a refund bc my water tested fine.
Then tried 2 clowns, 1 didnt make it.
The day after that my cardinals disappeared, saw little cardinal fin pieces left.
The second clown is fine and seems happy, though he hasnt really found himself a spot yet.
I am really watching these damsels closely and it appears they are picking at each other and I am guessing they stressed out my cardinals.
What can I do about this, I have read that if I add some coral before I add angel fish, that will help keep my coral safe...and I have also read angels may be able to keep those bullies in check as well. True, false?
Also, why would the damsels all of a sudden decide to pick on the cardinals when they were happy already for a couple of weeks?
