Hi guys, I'm trying to set up a frag tank linked to my 90 display. I want the flow to go from sump > display > frag tank > back to sump. Shia way I don't need a second return pump. I have all 1inch bulkheads and plumbing.

Problem is once plumbed the syphon wouldn't start from the main tank to the display. I believe it's because where the water comes I to the display I only 10 inches below the exit of the display but it travels 3 feet horizontally so a pretty shallow slope and I have a huge air lock. Trying to adjust the tank and fix the problem resulted in me cracking the tank, old 20g long so a $40 replacement.

So now that I'm starting again from scratch should I change the way I have it set up? My overflow from the frag tank is perfect it's just getting that syphon to start that's causing issues for me

You have an Aqualifter or powerhead to suck the air out of the line for you? Thats what starts the siphon for everyone, and restarts it after power loss.
