Trouble with protein skimmer

My Somatic was dialed in- added some corals and it went crazy. 1 week later still creating overflowing skim and lowest setting will not slow down- any thoughts- it is a red sea reefer 2509 sump

Is the skimmer new?

New skimmers take time to start working properly.

Put something under it and raise it up an inch or so. I used a brick. Take it out later after it is broken in.

+1 on raising it up until balanced out. Could be a couple days to a couple weeks.

cant raise it up because it is tight fit already!! argh

Take off the drain cap and let it flow. My 60S took about 1 - 1 1/2 weeks to break in.
