Picked up this clownfish under the impression that it was a true percula misbar but it just looks different from any ocellaris or tru perc I’ve kept in the past. I also noticed the middle band is more straight than any ocellaris/ tru perc pictures on Google. As I was looking thru Google I came across a blood orange misbar and my fish looks a lot like it. If anyone that’s more experienced with these types of clownfish can help me ID this guy it would be appreciated.

With a blood orange misbar the middle line usually doesn’t come all the way down to the bottom of the fish and the lines are a lot fatter you probably have a false percula misbar clown with just really straight lines lol. False has the black tint around the fins and eyes like your true percula misbar does not

That’s a blood orange. Aka mai tai clown.

How can you tell?

It’s wider body, the bars are thinner(especially the middle one) and the soft dorsal and anal fin are bigger/longer. My Lfs sells these all the time and sustainable aquatics also breeds them regularly. Google mai tai clown.

This my bloodorange loving the LTA to death

Yours is a bloodorange, they are also bigger than a true pecla.

Thanks for the replys… mine is super aggressive it’s harassing my occelaris. I thinking of taking it back to lfs, it’s a beautiful fish though so I’m not sure if I should it or my occelaris back. Do they really get 6”? Would he be ok with a 6line wrasse ?

They both will get along with a 6line wrasse. I have 6a line in my breeder with the Percula's and they ignore each other. you mainly see the aggression when you mix clown species together. If i'm not mistaken, the blood orange has Maroon clown roots so it will be very aggressive towards fish that encroach on their territory especially other clown species.
