True or False Percula Clownfish?

OK, here's one for ya'll. I've had these two clownfish (bought at separate times) for about 1 1/2yr. One was sold as a false percula, and one was sold as a true percula. I'm convinced that they're both the same. I won't tell you what my opinion is right now so I don't sway anyones vote.

theres 10 spines and i think ocellaris has 9-10 and percula has 8-9?
always get them mixed up

all i remember is that they overlapped, just didnt remember where they overlap on

edit* actually i just looked it up and percula is 9-10 and ocellaris is 10-11...lol so either one
i think youre gunna have to wait a lil bit more after growout

Those look like false perculas to me.

Another way to tell false from true, beyond counting spines is to look at the eye.....the eye is made up of two concentric cirlces....the outer cirle is always yellow/orange on True Perculas (a. percula) and black/greyish on False perculas (a. ocellaris).

False you can tell by the eye color and the spines.

The male looks like a common tank bred ocellaris to me. I can't tell the species of the female, though.

that female is a True Percula fo shizzle!...note the eye...the black banding is just starting to develop.....nice fish!

the male is a false percula though

Yeah from this pic I agree its a True Perc. So I say now you have one Occ and one True Perc.
