I found these cheap on amazon and was wondering if anyone has experience with them. Their intended purpose will really just be to extend my viewing time. I'm not concerned with it truly supplementing the t5 for coral health, just to get an hour or two of that led pop before and after my t5 lighting schedule starts/ends.

So do they give off a nice color pop? I'm thinking of ordering two 4' actinic strips, one on either side of my powermodule 6x54. 100g tank. Their par levels look to be about 1/2 of the reefbrites xho. The XHO reefbrite was my original plan, but for the way I plan to use it seem pretty pricey.

Thanks for any input!

I love the reefbrites. IMO, can't beat em. But these may be OK, I've never tried em

Thanks for the response! A buddy of mine has a reefbrite XHO and they are undeniably great actinic fixtures. I have sps front to back in my system, so I'm worried 1 reefbrite up front may not reach the back corals. 2 of the reefbrite 4' at $350 each is a little out of my league for now. That led me to looking inot these.

I may just pull the trigger and if they don't work out I'll use them for qt lights.

I have a 24" tall by 27" deep (front to back) tank with 4 AI Hydra 26s running in the center. I use 2 TrueLumen Marine Fusion one front and one back just to supplement/fill. They're pretty good lights for that, but I'd need a dozen of them to do what the Hydras do. Not sure you could keep anything but softies without putting a lot of these.

Thanks Lenny.

This will be supplementing the six 54watt t5s in my ATI power module.

Are your TrueLumens actinic? If so do you get that blue led pop with just them on?

No, I opted for the Marine fusion which is 60% diamond white 12000K and 40% 453nm actinic ... It is ok I'd say, all I needed to do is bump my blues up when they come on. I have the dual ramp timer and run them from 11:00am to 5:00pm (overlapping my peak for the AIs) you can see below, and where my white stays flat during that time since these provide plenty.
