So I tried ordering coral online for the first time. 3 of the 4 corals came in good condition, but the trumpet coral didn't like shipping.

Anything I can do to help it?

Tank is IM 25
Radion xr 30 set to LPS/soft mode at 20%
Params:
Salinity: 1.026
Temp: 78
pH: 8.2
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 25
Phosphate: 0.074
Alkalinity: 9.8
Calcium: 475
Magnesium: 1350

I would let it sit and see what happens. you Nitrates are a bit high so you should bring those down. I have mine around 1. Not sure if you have a refugium but that will help. Also look into Vodka dosing. Worked wonders for me.

man every time i move mine or get a new one they look rough for a week or so i dunno why when everything else opens right up

I'm also dealing with a hurting trumpet coral that I got last Friday. I got 7 new corals, 2 SPS and 5 LPS and this is the only one that looks like it's dying. I thought trumpet corals were supposed to be easy to keep. Glad to see others with the same challenge.

I have not looked into vodka dosing. I will check that out. I have been trying to lower the nutrients with water changes with minimal results.

No fuge. Need to find a good one for a AIO tank.

Are your phosphates .74 or .074???

.074 been trying to get them lower. It seems to vary week to week though.

Hmm maybe it will turn around I can see skeleton and some pieces of flesh coming off so doesn't seem good.

how much water are you changing. if only 10% then youre only removing 10% of nutrients in the water column, less if youre disturbing the sand.

Water changes along with nitrates that high will not help. Vodka dosing and you can dose Prime. Those will help. Just de ready for about 8 weeks to get it down. Make sure you get the cheapest crappy vodka to dose, you know the **** you wouldn't think of drinking in the plastic bottle. Lol

How old is your tank?

Dosing various things can help when the situation is needed.

I usually change 5 gallons a week while vacuuming the sand. On the weekend I did a10 gallon water change. Admittedly I haven't tested since doing that.

Alright sounds like I need to look up this vodka dosing. I assume there is a chart I can find that says how much to dose by tank size.

Well, the tank was setup in October, but I moved Dec 1st. So it was taken down and set back up then. Either way it's under 6 months.
Ok that's kinda what I thought by the rocks.

To be honest your tank is still growing and establishing itself.

Dosing works well when controlled and you know what you're looking for and you have a steady tank that has been established.

If you start dosing into a new tank and have no clue what or why you're really dosing...then you will run into problems.

Phos and nitrate go hand in hand.

If you start dosing to drop your nitrates have a plan to lower your phos as well. Don't bottom them both out or you will run into another issue.

When you start dosing just make sure you have an idea of where you want your tank to be. How much nitrate do you want. You need some in your tank. Try to aim for the numbers you have researched and what will work best for your tank and then take action.

90 gallons a 5 gallon change is only about 5% so thats not doing much at all. you can do a few large 25% ish changes every other day or a big one,

but chemical filtration is probably best at this point

I think his tank is only 25g...

I could be wrong but just to make sure is the tank is a IM 25?

Yes 25gallon. I wish I had a 90g!

Since it's a LPS tank I would aim for 5-10ppm nitrate. I have been using rowaphos to slowly lower phosphates.

I will do some reading on the vodka dosing.

i guess it helps to read the whole post on the build thread. sorry about that. but i still think tge same holds true. do several 20% changes in a week to try and knock them back, as well as some chemical filtration
