This has been in my tank maybe for two weeks. The base was a dark purple, but yesterday I noticed the top of it is turning white. The coral is placed about middle of the water column. Should I be worried?

The purple is just coralline algae that is turning white. Unrelated to the coral polyp. As long as the polyp does not start turning white it’s fine. What is your calcium level and alkalinity? That may account for the coralline turning white if calcium is to low.

Thanks. I will check my calcium later today.
