So i upgraded my biocube lights too leds they look like this.

So there non dimable and i wanted too dim them some how so i put black screening between the led lights and plastic cover ( inside the cover). a few days later i have little melted then re garded divits in my plastic shield. I didnt think it would melt it.... if i turn my fans on in the hood should that make it better right? they are loud and i thought leds were "cool" so i didnt think i nedded the fans on!

Def need fans for the heat sinks
Spend a few more bucks and buy a dimmable driver and get some potentiometers. They are very simple to wire up

You need to get that screen in front of those LEDs. Get it on the tank lip. Not right up against them.

Great job on the lights and I agree the fan will take care of your problem. Have you seen any water temp changes ?
