Trying to control phos, losing batle

That is eye opening!!! I am going to test water right off RODI unit and water that has been stored for a week or so and see what PO4 comes back with

No luck, both fresh rodi and week old stored water reading 0.0

Ruling out new water as a source i re read your original post.
I am not familiar with your skimmer.
How big is the cup? A full cup everyday sounds like a lot for the amount and size of your fish.
How many cubes are you feeding twice a day? Do you shut your pumps off so its not nuilding in the sump?
Do you have any shrimp or hermits in the sump where they wont get sucked into a pump?

How was the live rock dried and cleaned?

Also are you using hanna phosphate or phosphorous

My skimmer cup full holds, Im guessing 16-20 oz
I bought the BIG flat of PE mysis so I break off and feed. Id say maybe 3/4 of a cube per feeding or 1 1/2 cubes per day total. And again defrosting then feeding just shrimp no liquid from cup goes into tank.
Yep I shut down, system runs off an apex, so complete shut down for feed 5 mins except for MP40 that drops to 15% nutrient mode
I have it wet skimming to try to stay on top of phos. It is pretty clear, and I watch my salinity to make sure that doesn't move.
My CUC
one scarlett skunk cleaner shrimp from a mature tank, he's probably 4-5 inches
2 red legged hermits
1 diamond goby (sand sifter) 4+ inches
2 narcissus snail,
10 or so trochus snails,

I do not have anything in in the sump for CUC, just socks, skimmer and fuge

Hanna checker is Phosphate
Green HI713

Going back to how live rock was dried and cleaned. It was bleached then dried out, then washed dried out, then aquascaped into tank. I'm starting to think because I didn't treat rock with acid that its built up in the rock.

Sand? Source of sand? Type of glue used in tank if any?

BRS 1" deep CaribSea Aragonite Dry Sand
Epoxy all rock together using D-D AquaScape

The only things i see as possiblities with all your answers are

A. possible over feeding, but it doesnt seem that extreme to me.

B.The rock you have came from a tank that was high in phosphate or was manmade and used as liverock.

I just cant see any other reasons.

From 7am to noon today without feeding. Phos was .09 to .12. Just system running.

I would try a two little fishes phosban reactor they work really well. I used 2 small ones on my system(400+ gallons total) when i was having issues it worked great. Just be sure tofollow the initial set up and flow instructions, if you dont rinse as directed it will make a mess in your tank real quick.I have never tried the rx method you are doing.

Melevs uses and sells it. Drops to tank, Attaches to phos and is collected in 10 micron sock. Dose at night. Pull socks in am. Instant drop. Just can’t drop more than .5 at a time....is what’s suggested. Works perfect. Just can’t do this forever :/

Thats why i like phosban, you just let itdo its thi g andchange media every now and then

I should add for the record, your coraline algae looks to be pretty good for a tank thats only 5 months old
